Lessons Learned During 5 years of Illuminessence!

By  |  0 Comments

Illuminessence Magazine will mark its 5 year anniversary on International Women’s Day and that’s a notable achievement!

I have pondered over what this note should entail for a while. 5 years of Illuminessence have been exciting, challenging and memorable and to sum it up in one note has proven to be a herculean task.

While there are so many memorable moments to reflect upon and experiences to share, I find myself at a loss for words to describe how I truly feel at this time. I am filled with indescribable emotions, not because I don’t recognize the significance of this milestone, but because mere words cannot adequately express the enormity and complexity of my emotions.

Therefore, I have decided to share with you, some of the profound lessons learned over the past 5 years of my Illuminessence journey.

1.      Patience.
2.      Dreams do come true.
3.      Never quit on a dream, if you truly believe in it.
4.      Success is not measured by wealth but by fulfillment, personal satisfaction and contentment.
5.      The road to success is not linear or one dimensional. It consists of curves, bumps and scenic views.
6.      Be inspired by moments that take your breath away.
7.      Lasting friendships and relationships are formed organically and sometimes through unlikely circumstances.
8.      Be wary or steer clear of “honey bees”. Their buzz is loud and their sting can be quite painful.
9.      Some people come into your life to test your patience. Use it as an opportunity to test your will power.
10.    Be passionate and consistent in your words and actions.
11.     Be adaptive to change.
12.    Transformative change happens when you least expect.
13.    Dare to be different, unique and distinctively fabulous.
14.    Your authenticity and integrity must be apparent.
15.    Be courageous and resilient in the face of adversity.
16.    Have the courage to let go, when you realize that it is necessary.
17.    Sometimes, it is okay to not be okay. Take time to pause, reflect and refocus.
18.    Don’t focus solely on building a business, but also focus on creating a reputable brand and a legacy.
19.    Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things.
20.   No good thing never dies.

It is with a gratifying heart that I express sincere thanks to the Illuminessence team, my kids, family and close friends for being the wind beneath my wings. Your efforts, contributions and kindness are greatly appreciated and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who has supported us over the years. I will remain eternally grateful for your kindness and support. I look forward to celebrating the next 5 years and many more milestones with you. The best of Illuminessence is yet to come!
